Housing Policy Enthusiast. Software Developer. Problem Solver.

Housing Policy Enthusiast

After a string of negative experiences as a tenant, I became interested in housing policy and how it impacts people’s lives. My priorities are addressing systemic issues and ensuring everyone has a safe place to call home. I aim to help people communicate the challenges they are experiencing so that solutions can be implemented, and I help develop online resources and data analysis tools so that negative patterns can be identified and rectified.

Right now, I’m participating as the Vice-Chair of the BC Housing Action Coalition.

Software Developer

My background spans twenty years in web and software development, beginning with self-directed learning and then continuing into the New Media Design & Web Development program at British Columbia Institute of Technology, developing complementary skills in design, marketing, and business strategy alongside my technical foundation. I’ve enjoyed working on diverse projects including online content management systems, interactive internal applications, games, and data automation.

If you need an optimized algorithm developed with provable performance in Big O Notation, I might not be a good fit. But for building tools that will help make the lives of you, your staff, and your neighbours easier, that might be something I can help with.

At the moment, I’m working with friends at BC Playthings, a toy store in North Vancouver.

Problem Solver

No matter what I’m doing, I like to make things simpler and easier for myself and others. I believe that making space for people to grow and thrive is how we make the world a better place in the long-term. Removing obstacles to basic necessities doesn’t make people less resilient; there will always be other challenges. When people can start approaching novel challenges, that’s where the magic happens.
